Counseling Department

The School Counselor and Student Support Specialist provide students with the opportunity to acquire the academic, personal/social and career skills essential to their success in school and becoming productive citizens within their community. Our students are taught to respect themselves and others, by treating everyone fairly and with kindness. In addition to working with students as an advocate, we are a valuable component to the Student Support Team (SST), Response to Intervention (RTI) and College and Career Ready Performance Index (CCRPI) platforms.

Our students are our first priority and their needs and concerns impact their learning. We want our children to feel safe and know that we are discreetly attentive to each individual’s situation. Parents are welcomed to express their concerns for their children. A collaborative effort between school and home is the most beneficial method of helping our children realize his or her dreams and aspirations in life.

Our Mission...

The mission of the Guidance, Counseling, and Mentoring department is to support the development of student competencies in the academic, personal/social, and career domains (learning to learn, learning to live, learning to work) ensuring that students achieve success and are prepared to be productive members of society.

Our Goals...

  • To align each professional school counseling program with the American School Counselor Association (ASCA) National Model for Comprehensive School Guidance
  • To assist all students in acquiring the appropriate attitude, knowledge, and skills that contribute to effective learning in school and across the life span
  • To assist all students with the identification of the appropriate resources needed for academic preparation and post-secondary options
